Sorry I haven't posted a message before now but I came back from our great fishing week with Lucky Ruby and promptly went off to Greece for a week! Anyway, what words can possibly do justice to our fantastic trip. As you know I'd been dreaming about tangling with a marlin from Mogan for a few years, but never really got close. So when I got my fish on 2nd September I was absolutely elated (and knackered!) The whole experience was breathtaking including the anticipation, the excitement of the take and the exhilarating tension of the fight. Then for the whole thing to be repeated a few days later with Brian's 'twin' seven hundred pounder was just amazing. We'd both like to thank you for your hard work, great attitude and boatmanship that enabled us to tag and release these two dream fish. It's surely a difficult act to follow but we'll certainly be back next August. Keep those beers cold! |  |

Although we didn't catch any fish the first day, the meeting with the wale and the dolphins was exciting! The second day was great fishing with 5 skip-jack-tuna's, 1 angelshark (although he spit out the lizard fish and the hook en 2 nice stingrays. Ana had a great day bij catching aproximately 139 bogars. But for us the must thing we enjoy is the company of you, Roger and Heather (and next time Andrew). We do appreciated everything! I thought the boat was great, extremely well equipped and handled to perfection by the crew. It is the first time in Gran Canaria that I've been out with a totally English (OK, part Irish)crew and it made a great change to be able to converse about the fishing and tactics without the normal language problems. I found you knowledgeable,enthusiastic and very helpful and would have no hestitation in recommending Lucky Ruby to anyone, whether they be experienced anglers or complete novices. Not only is the boat very well equipped and seaworthy, but such a polight and helpful crew you should look a long time to find. The boat is never crowded as they take max 6 fisherman per trip. The most important is the actual catch, and we did very well, at least 3-5 different rays per day in sizes varing from 10 to 100 kg. with the average around 30 kg. I am still sore in all my body after fighting one for nearly 4 hours, We had to let him go, after 3 men together gave up lifting the beast off the bottom.
